Is striving for perfection, healthy?
Perfection, does it exist only in our imagination? Are we our own worst enemy pushing ourselves too hard, to work harder, achieve more, accept only perfection? In my work as a holistic therapist, I have noticed, since lockdown, that more customers are becoming emotionally burnt out, to the point they are unable to function beyond their day to day hamster wheel existance, they seem to have forgotten how to laugh and be happy.
I have noticed this with myself. I am my hardest critic. Is this fair to punish ourselves so hard, afterall, keeping all the balls in the air is tough enough without adding self critique on top? So what can we do to balance the scales a little, allowing us to loosen our shoulders, put us on the daily job list, after all the Dalai Lama has said that “happiness is not ready made, it comes from our own actions”. The pressure to be a wonderful parent, worker, partner and friend can be overwhelming so from today, lets lighten the load and realise that perfection doesnt exist.
Wellness Therapy
I have been a holistic therapist for nearly 30 years. I recently completed my training in Wellness Therapies, such as mindfulness, EFT, and meditation to sit alongside the reflexology and reiki therapies I already offer. The main reason I wanted to learn more about using wellness therapies to help with mental health was what I was beginning to notice from my customers.
We all spend too long in our heads, overthinking, over analysing, and forecasting doom before it happens, which leads to feelings of anxiety, being overwhelmed, and burnout. By learning to stay in the present, focusing on how we feel right now, and giving our minds lots of space to breathe, we can begin to heal our emotional selves.
Begin today to appreciate how wonderful you are

OUR NEWS:
December 3rd is Small Business Saturday 10th anniversary. We are so proud to be a smallbiz100, we jump on any opportunity to shout about supporting small businesses, and shopping small and local to keep our UK and local economy strong and vibrant. If you have signed up to receive our monthly wellness catch-up email, and if not wholeheartedly recommend you sign up right now!, we are running a competition to celebrate all things smallbiz
We are 6 on December 6th woo hoo, I forget how young Helpmeorganics is, my therapy business is celebrating its 28th birthday this month too. Please keep an eye on our social media to help us celebrate 6 years of organic aromatherapy, 6 years of smelling gorgeous and 6 years of, hopefully, helping you feel happy.
We don’t take part in black Friday, its overly commercial, very American and, quite frankly wrong in our book. We have been taking part in the #EthicalHour #ShopEthicalInstead campaign to raise awareness that we should all buy products and gifts which have been produced sustainably, from planet friendly materials and processes. There is also Colour Friday so please this year, consider buying from a UK small business.
We are very excited to say that we have joined Ecologi to offset our carbon footprint, we are committed to being an ethical brand. We take great care in how we produce our products and only use recyclable, reusable and compostable packaging. We want to go further though to make Helpmeorganics completely and honestly net zero.
The last order day, to guarantee delivery for Christmas, will be very early this year due to postal disruptions. Please make sure your orders are with us by Sunday 11th December 2022
Our prices will be increasing on January 1st, we work so hard to keep our prices as low as possible but, just like everyone, our costs have increased considerably.
Have you seen our NEW gift box below, Essential Oil Blend Collection, this is part of our new The Seasons Collection. Four 10ml blends for each season along with four aromastones to diffuse the organic scents.
We are changing the size of our candles from 150g to 250g in January 2023. We have been asked many times to make our candles bigger and have found beautiful tins which we hope you like too!
My final thoughts…….
Christmas can be lots of fun but lots of stress too, just try and have a happy Christmas, not a perfect Christmas but a happy one. We want to thank you for supporting us this year, we really do appreciate every order, every lovely comment. We have plans for 2023 and will share them in our January post.
