Have some Garden Therapy

As i work in the garden, the garden works on me
— unknown

We are so excited to introduce our newest scent, help me have some garden therapy. Made with essential oils of rose damask, geranium leaf, lavender and grapefruit, the scent celebrates the therapeutic value of time spent in a garden.

The simple act of mindfully deadheading switches off your thoughts and worries, by the time you have removed the last spent flower, you will feel completely relaxed. Every gardener knows about garden therapy, the scents of the flowers, feel of soil and the buzz of insects around us, you exhale. When I finish after a busy day, I always go to the garden, even for 10 minutes just to feel my shoulders drop, this blend will take you there at home.

This is a candle for any botanist, a beautifully scented candle.

Benefits of Rose Damask essential oil

Rose Damask has relaxing, thought calming properties, a balancer of the mind. The scent is evotive of afternoons spent with loved ones, listening to music or simply allowing natures music to waft over you. It has a complex sweet aroma which is nurturing to the soul, it blends well with geranium and lavender to create a deeply calming fragrance and is considered an aphrodisiac.

Benefits of gardening:

It is my happy place, my safety net after a stressful day and somewhere I go to exhale. The quietness of my garden is wonderful, the buzz of the natural world around me helps to switch off my brain for a while, but I am not alone.

  • if you have enjoyed NoMowMay and carried on through LetItBloomJune, why not keep your lawn long and beautiful with ThighHighInJuly and give the insects time to reproduce and be so beneficial to your garden. I have mowed a path to the center of my lawn and created a space for my chair so that I can sit immersed in the garden, its wonderful.

  • July is plastic-free July. A time to calculate how much single-use plastics you use and how you can reduce this amount. There are handy tips here

  • July 10th is “Don’t Step on a Bee” Day. I was deadheading my roses at the weekend and noticed the telltale signs of leafcutter bees, the funny shapes they nibble from leaves in just delightful and you see the bees carrying the leaf shape to line a hole where they have left a precious egg, my house is very old so I have lots of natural holes for them so I never paint my house wall so that they are not disturbed or affected.

I hope you have a wonderful month. Not only do we have an election (be good when that’s over!!), but the Olympics begin on the 26th of July and we also have Wimbledon and the end of the Euros, so lots of sporty things. July sees garden events and lots of outdoor cinema events too so plenty to enjoy! Have fun and be happy, Linda x

Gimmers are instances when you are struck by the beauty of the moment and can fully appreciate its magic. The more glimmers we notice, the happier we become, and the happier we are, the more glimmers we experience. Its a continuous circle
