The change of season from summer to autumn can be tricky for our body. The days begin to shorten and the light levels reduce as Autumn takes her hold. There are plenty of ways to boost your immune system, rehydrate your skin and prepare for warm jumpers, cosy nights in and beautiful misty mornings!

A misty morning does not signify a cloudy day (ancient proverb), we have some tips for you to try:

  • eat a healthy diet. Stews, soups and baked potatoes come to the fore. Its a time for pumpkins, sweet potatoes, carrot, parsnips, apples, chestnuts and green leafy vegetables.

  • body brushing really helps to keep your lymphatic system running efficiently which will help to fight off seasonal coughs and colds. Ensure you brush upwards, lightly and on dry skin.

  • use a richer body cream, add an oil under your cream to keep your skin soft and silky

  • the change in the light levels can affect our moods so get outside as much as possible to make the most of the gorgeous autumnal light. Its truly a wonder

  • go for walks to keep your fitness up

  • sing and dance

  • make a memory board of times this summer

  • change your skincare routine to be more hydrating, vitamin rich but make sure to use a sunscreen as we can still enjoy hot sunny afternoons

  • make a list of films, music and programmes to enjoy this autumn

  • autumn is the beginning of candle season

  • I always change the scent in my home. During summer, i love a fresher cleaner fragrance, but for autumn, i love a spicier scent, try our “say hello to autumn” blend. We have blended organic essential oils of pimento, sweet orange and rose geranium. Have you seen our Season Collection Essential Oil Blend gift box? Four 10ml blends, one for each season

Autumn Equinox - Mabon

The Autumn Equinox is an equinox and not a solstice. What is the difference? A solstice results in a change of the length of day and night, an equinox does not. The Autumn Equinox is similar to the Spring Equinox when the daylight hours are the same as the night time hours, we are in balance. This year we celebrate the autumn equinox on the 22nd September and we have created a Letterbox gift to help you make the most of this festivity.

To celebrate the equinox, light a candle, invite friends and family over to enjoy a meal from the harvest and be grateful for everything you have eaten, enjoyed and experienced so far this year. Autumn is also the ideal time to set your intentions for the rest of 2024. In the letterbox gift box, we have added a card filled with tips and information.

Please place your orders for the box by the 17th of September to allow enough time, the box will fit through any conventional letterboxes and is a wonderfully thoughtful gift
